Hear yea ,hear yea, hear yea let all come near... Big news is happening right here.. Stop the presses, tell your neighbors and friends... Big news abounding on the Windward Spirit..Believe it or not, CARL CAUGHT A FISH.....Yes it's really true.. They we were sailing along the Atlantic coast , when Carl decides to put a line out and troll for fish... And before the days end we had a fish.. The curse is lifted!! The fish will soon be jumping into the boat just to get on the blog....The day started out early! Yes we are back to that lets get going at first light.. Who does this? Fisherman and sailors I guess.. Not people named Rosie....We left Ocean City behind with good memories. We  had a splendid time there. Met some sailors, walked the boardwalk, had $2.00 Happy Hour and got to surf.. Life doesn't get better than that... The day at sea was calm (thank god) with not much to report, that is until the fish arrived... You would have split a gut watching us figure out what to next. Rosie get the net.. Carl where are you gonna clean that thing...So many chooses...Since we had gotten an early start we made the anchorage at Cape May , N J at about 3pm. Good thing we did.. The anchorage we choose had 2 boats when we arrived and 7 by time it was lights out .Not many more could have fit.. The Coast Guard has a training base right in front of where we dropped the hook. All we heard all afternoon and evening was the shouts of cadets marching and doing calisthenics .. We  even heard them marching to chow hall. The cantor never stopped. How do they have a voice left after all that yelling?.. That's our men and women who keep our sea's safe. Our hats are off to them!! .This is a large fishing boat area. Huge charter boats returning from sea, a steady flow of them. And you know by now how that gets our boat rocking... Lucky for us it was a no wake zone in front of the Coast Guard station..We finished off the mussels for dinner (still Delicious ) and sat in the cockpit till the bugs arrived, then  it was time for a game of domino's, I lost big time..One more thing to make Carl's day.. It was off to bed as we are leaving at first light again... Yippy... Zippy... Time to cruise the New Jersey Coast..

  1. When Carl told me about the diving plug he was draggin' I figured it was just a matter until something would hit it, the old blind squirrel theory. Hard to tell from the pic, but I'd guess that's a Bluefish. Good job!
