As you can imagine we did not get out of bed early, it was a late night and sleep was needed... When I finally got up about 9:30 am I grabbed Bella and we headed off the dock to use the bathroom. They had a public toilet right there and lots of places for Bella to run. She is always happy to hit land..We walked all the way down the road and noticed a huge marina and lots of restaurants. On our return, as we were approaching the dock we noticed that there were a couple of men at the boat ramp next store us where we were docked checking all the boats that went in the water. I didn't want to raise in interest in us so we quietly got back on the boat. Carl got up and I made pancakes and coffee, while he took the binoculars to read what their hats said.. Coast Guard Auxiliary...They were doing safety checks for all the boats going out.. Narrow escape.. Carl toe is all black and blue along with the side of his foot, walking is not as fast as it normally is..Yep his toe is broke... Just as I was picking up the dishes a police boat pulled up... Cheese it, it the cops.. and asked what we were doing there ?. We told them we were towed in and had no motor to move. They told us it was a $500. fine and we better find a way to move it. We said it would take a while to fix it until we could move, but we could move that day. So they called Sea-Tow and told them to move us or they were getting the fine. Unaware that they called them I had left the boat to find some starting fluid. When I returned we were being tied up to them and readied for the move.As we traversed the water way I took pictures . The night before when we were coming in I saw these large boats with all these hoses on back and asked what kind of fishing they did. I was told they got great big ocean clams about 10 inches in diameter . By using the hoses on back they blow away the sand then scoop them up into a large cage they drag behind. They are used as clam strips and chopped sea clams.. Hey I think I may have used them a time or two...We were put in a anchorage just to the west of the pier and it is real nice here. Luckily for us I was able to pick up the starting fluid before we left. It is a very long way to the business shore. There is a beach right here with lots of people and boats, plenty to watch. Carl got to work on the fuel system and I got to cleaning up the deck. In all the excitement the night before Carl had stepped in Bella's dog mess and it was everywhere, so a bucket and soap and swabbing the deck were in order.. Yo heave ho it's a sailors life for me...Carl also had to climb the mast to fix the Lazy Jack( that the thing that hold the mast sail in place when you lower it), I offered to got up but he was able to climb it easier than putting me in the boson chair and hauling me up. Dinner was made and the night ended with a walk on the beach..As soon as the dingy was lower Bella ran for her life jacket, or should I say, she had me run for her life jacket.. Bella was so happy she was running as fast as she could up and down the beach, even in the water. I guess she has gotten use to it now..It was so cute. However the mosquitoes weren't!!! We were told by the Sea-Tow guy that wild ponies lived on the island along with Japanese antelope and we saw hoof tracks in the sand. To bad we didn't see the ponies...Maybe we will before we leave..It stormed most to the night but not to bad, today we check out the boardwalk..
