Can you believe that Bella has learned to knock on the door? It's true , we let her out to do her business and closed the gangway and when she was done she knocked to get in. Shocked us.. Cool what a dog!! After morning coffee we pulled anchor and went for a look see around the anchorage and what did we see? Those wild ponies on the island, a couple of groups of them. It was so cool.. I took a picture but they are kinda hard to see. I had hoped we would and we did... Yeah...Carl called a yellow sailboat that was anchored in the same area as us just to chat, and was told of a cheap gas hop and pump-out so we headed over. The current in the inlet was treacherous to say the lease. There was lots of boat traffic (most of them fishing) so trying to figure out which dock he was talking about was crazy. I was at the helm when the current kept pushing me sideways so we just dropped anchor while we tried to figure it out. After talking it over we decided to go through the bridge and see if that was what he meant, and it was...Fueled up and pumped out we dropped anchor near by and readied to head to the boardwalk. Dropped the dingy and looked for a place to tie it up safely, Bella was not happy we were not taking her, because dogs are not allowed on the boardwalk.. Sorry but its our time today...And what a boardwalk it was... It's about 2 miles long, huge by John's Pass standards.. If was filled with lots of stores, ice cream shops, restaurants and bars, fake tattoo places, and a beach all along the front area, plus a trolley for those who thought it was to long to walk. This place is nuts... what fun... We walked in and out of the shops and looked for a place to stop for a drink and a snack. It was raining a little so most places were packed and we didn't want to be stuck in the back of a bar inside and not see the  beach, so Shenanigan's it was.. Glad for it too, our server was a gal named Leah and she was great!! Fun, funny and gave good service too. She even helped with picking of my drink and the right apperitzer to share.. We had a good time there but it was time to move on..Along the way we saw this crazy wall it turned out to be  an art shop that was on the Discovery Channel. Also there was a beautiful sand sculpture  of the last supper. Neat stuff  everywhere ya looked..The rain had stopped and the boardwalk was packed. They had the craziest food, a pizza that looked like a ice cream cone, a pretzel with  chicken, broccoli and cheese inside, plus 30 other varieties.. Street performers were out like the picture of the spray paint can artist who painted to music fast under 5 minutes and they were really good. We walked out to where we almost hit the rocks... scary place.. we are standing on it in a picture, watched the surfer in the shore bound. Then it was time to do the midway.. carnival time.. This put a huge smile on my face .. We didn't do any rides but just being there was fun.. At the nights end we had dinner at Guido's Mexican Restaurant... really... a Italian  who owns a Mexican cantina... lets just say it wasn't the best food, but the staff like Delson was great.  Carl walked the whole day and never once complained about his toe...It was time to head back to Bella and the boat, we had been gone a long time.. Boy was she glad to see us.. It was lights out and in the morning we will figure out whats next..

  1. What a thrill to hear from y'all today, glad the fuel situation is hopefully put to bed. Rosie, I checked that gmail account and nada, zip, nothin'. Pretty sure it's jkaytis@gmail.com, if not, use kaytis@tampabay.rr.com. Anyhow, the boardwalk sounds like too much fun. Good stuff guys!
