Have I got a story for you today!!! The day started off easy enough, light winds and gentle seas. We didn't have wind in the right direction to sail, but the waves were only 2 to 3 ft glass . So it should be an easy pass..Only bad part is ...YES.. Carl's toe is broke...It hurts a lot and he has to keep it in a shoe to keep the pain down.Walking is not easy... We started our day at 6AM as we hoped to cover 80 miles and get to Ocean City , MD. About mid-morning we had our first sign of trouble, the same old fuel problem reared its ugly head.. Carl found the air leak, and we were up and running again. This continued to happen 2 more times. It did not put Carl in the best of moods...Just be glad you weren't here for the swear fest.. You know the endless swearing when a man is trying to fix something and it's not working.. Needless to say this was really putting us behind our approximate  arrival at the next port..We figure what the hell, we can get there after dark as it was predicted that storms would be here the next day and we wanted to be in port. Then the forth and final time it just quit. Carl tried to get it going again but he ran out of starting fluid. So he was squirting diesel fuel with one of the squirt guns Shelia gave us, that  wasn't working either. We had a light wind coming from the stern and decided to put up the jib sail with a spinnaker pole on it to get us moving.. Away we went.. not fast but still moving 3.5 knots.. The port was in site only about 10 miles to go.. by now it was about 10pm.. Carl tried putting up the main but it just slowed us down. Finally the channel markers were ahead of us. It was decided we would make the turn and then put up the main to get us inside .. The winds and waves had picked up and the channel we were approaching was not your normal straight channel.. No this one we had seen on the chart before we arrived that it had a jetty and some turns to it.. Once we start heading in to the channel all hell breaks loose.. The boat doesn't have enough power to make the turn to port, and Carl is trying to hoist the main. I'm yelling" She won't turn hurry up!!"  We were heading to rocks on the other side of the channel... I scream its not helping...The wind had us and wouldn't let us go that way.. Carl dropped the main and yelled for me to turn the boat.. It wouldn't go to port so I turned to starboard.. once turned Carl dropped the anchor immediately .The boat was heading  for the Ocean city  pier, where all the rides we located, we were having quite the ride ourselves.. .. Lucky for us the boat jerked to a stop...This was a very close call..  We barley missed the rocks !!!!!! Its now about 1 am and we call the Sea Tow to come and get us and get us to safer water, only after 3 calls they don't answer.. But the Coast Guard does.... Love the Coast Guard... They take all our information and say they will call Sea Tow..That worked..Next thing you know we get a call from them and they say they will come and get us.. We are not in a good  place and if our anchor drags this could spell disaster... We had no control over the boat.. This is not a position we want to be in... . Between a rock and a hard place!!!. The tow boat arrives and we ask if they have a city dock that doesn't cost anything to stay at. He say no but they do have a dock that was built for the governor  only he never comes here so it's always empty. Cha-Ching ... That's the place for us. We are towed there and we tie up.. It is 3:15 AM when we are finally in a safe place and all lines are secured. We thank the Sea Tow guy and get ready for bed. The only thought I have is do you think they will ever renew our Sea Tow membership.. Three time and counting.. Today repairs begin again....
