I had forgotten to tell you about the bird that landed on our boat on the way to Ocean City. We were about 3 miles out to sea and this tiny bird comes to rest on our lifelines. We think the bird was tired as she flew away a couple of times only to come back aboard. The bird stayed with us until we were anchored and then it flew off. Some how it had gotten to far out to sea. We were glad we could give it a ride..Starting our day in the achorage in Ocean City, Md was a good way to start the day.We had hoped that we could go out and pick some mussels but the wind was blowing at a good rate and kicking up the waves, so it was not a good day for that. Even waiting until the tide went down didn't help so we headed over to the other side of the inlet. On this side is where they have cheaper fuel and we can easily get to shore. We dropped anchor and decided to fuel up in a few days since the wind would have blown us against the dock, never fun.. Carl dropped the dingy and we prepared to go ashore, Bella was going her usual crazy.Once in the dingy Carl got the motor strated and we headed to shore, only the motor quit and we started to drift. We ended up getting ourselves into a dock that wasn't the way we wanted to go, but at least we weren't floating up the bay. After about 30 or more minutes Carl finally gets out the oars and rows us to shore..I was so glad because my legs were falling asleep the way I have to sit in the dingy.. We are quite the show to watch.Three women were watching off their balcany and said they couldn'd believe we got in that small dingy. I laughed and told them we do it all the time.. Tied up and on shore we found out they were having steet rods all weekend long, so headed for a local bar we knew about to watch the parade.. And what a parade it was. Pickles Pub has outdoor area for smoking so that's where we sat with Bella. The cars were great.. Every style you could imagane.. Everything from a 30's coupe, old trucks and even a Maverick and an old Javlin.. You don't see many of those. Everyone on the deck was having a blast calling out the makes and models of the cars. After a couple of drinks we headed over to the boardwalk. It is nice because it is after Oct. 1st and Bella is allowed on the boardwalk. We were suprised to see how busy it was, but it was a nice day and everyone was out. The car show on the street I'm sure brought more people to town. We enjoy the boardwalk it is a great people watching place and its just plain cool. I'm such a tourist...Even had my camera out.. At the boardwalk there was this crazy car with items glued all over it, from the crazy art studio we showed you last time we were here. So in the spirit of the day I made sure I got a picture of that car also.. After a while the weather was turning colder and it was time for us to head back to the Windward Spirit. Before we froze..Once on aboard I made sandwiches from fish I had picked up in Freeport, N.Y and we watched a little T.V. We caught the local weather that said is was gonna be cold and rainy for the next couple of days.. All I can say is they were right.. When we awoke today it's about 55 degrees and nasty rainy out, we will be staying on the boat today. Again we wait for our weather window
