Carl started the day by changing out the fuel filter and took the seawater pump apart to check and make sure the impeller was still in tack. The impeller was in good shape and it was time to go so he put the pump back together and we were off. It was a beautiful day on the water, as we left Cape May, N.J. The sails were hosted and the sun was shinning. We motor sailed most of the day except midday when the winds died down to nothing.. With the sails up we were able to move along at a good pace and not use the engine as much as we had been..The engine is running hotter than it use to, which has Carl a bit concerned. He can't seem to find the reason why..We had 50 miles to cover today to arrive in Ocean City, Maryland. Thankfully there is not a lot to report of our sea journey today. The inlet in Ocean City is a bit tricky so we had to pay attention to the markers coming in. Although we did see a classic car event closing up as we were coming in. All the cars and trucks were leaving the boardwalk and it was fun to watch them. Boat traffic is much lighter and so we could enjoy watching the cars while coming in.We headed over to where we had anchored before so we could go pick up some mussels today. And the first thing we see are the horses on the shore, they run free on this island across from the boat. As night fell we looked out over the boardwalk, it was strange to see that not a ride was lit up. It is after the season now, so I guess the midway is closed down. We plan to spend the day here today, so tomorrow I will report what we have seen.
