Well it was another morning of 6am departures, oh how I just love those!! We headed up the ICW looking forward to getting to North Carolina today. We were pretty tired as getting up early so many morning is really not our speed. It wouldn't be so bad if we went to bed early, but we a just not built that way.. It was a pretty tranquil day on the water way. We saw alot of the same cruisers we had seen the day before, but not much other traffic until later in the day and closer to Myrtle Beach. We stopped a very nice marina called Osprey and got a pump out and fuel walked Bella and had some ice cream as we rocked on the front porch. If you head this way nice place to take a break. Once up by Myrtle Beach the waterway was NUTS...Boats and jetskies were blasting everywhere with litttle or no concern for anyone else on the water. One boat got so close to us, I could have reached out and touched it... Crazy... I guess they have a need for speed...It sure gave us lots to talk about and watch. We passed a lighthouse that we couldn't figure out what is was for, we guessed it must have marked a marina or something along time ago. It sure didn't look like it was needed where it was.. We anchored up on the side of the channel as it was getting late and it would be at least 10 miles till we could find an anchorage. We had traveled 65 miles today.. Yeah baby we rock...Once secured I made dinner and we were sitting in the cockpit watching the traffic go by and a Boat Us stopped to talk and told us. He told us that sometimes during the night a barge went though. Even given the fact we were out of the channel this didn't sit well with me. I became worried about it, but Carl said not to worry we were fine.. We went below as soon as dark hit . Here come the mosquitoes, hurry get the screens up !!! We watched a movie and Carl went to bed about 1/2 way through it, I stay up I couldn't sleep. I wanted to watch for the barge.. No barge came but a very large shrimp boat came by. Even with all the lights he had on, I guess he was on auto pilot and came within 5 feet of us!!!.That was it no sleep tonight... I finally fell asleep about 4am and woke at 7am hearing Carl pulling the anchors up. Today we will be in Carolina Beach...
