The morning started very early we were up at 5:30 am and moving by 6am.. No I'm not pulling your leg...We wanted to leave with the morning tide since the current is so strong and we had to make the next bridge opening by 7am. They won't open it once morning traffic begins so its closed from 7am till 9am, we missed the bridge by 2 minutes.. That's right 2 minutes.... So as early as a start we got we were just not quick enough...We had to wait the 2 hours. Carl took a nap and I wrote on my blog and talked on the phone to my dad. Aren't you glad I didn't call you... When the time came to go through the bridge there were 4 sailboats and 1 catamaran, and Alexina of Shoreham was one of them!!! As they passed Tiger yells, " Hey Windward Spirit, come on the bridge is gonna open!"We were so pleased to see them.. . Helen and I were taking pictures of each other.. what fun.. And Tiger is a little monkey all over that boat..Great fun meeting wonderful people like them..First at the bridge and the last to go through. Believe it or not we ended up passing all the other boats and taking the lead, I don't think that has ever happened before, usually everyone is passing us. The day was had just motoring up the river,( wind on the nose) not a good enough weather window to go out in the Atlantic yet. I am sure we will get there someday...However we did play a game called, who can kill the most biting flies!!!They were everywhere, Carl would constantly swat one ,then Bella caught a few and I am quite the killer. I'm pretty sure Carl got the most kills..They didn't go down without a fight, they got a few bites in.. Those suckers hurt..We came upon a ferry boat crossing, you don't see many of those anymore, so I took a picture. We arrived at Georgetown S.C. to refuel, pump out and to anchor for the night. Skipper Bob's book was wrong there was no free pump out... Bummer.. Once anchored up we hopped in the dingy and Carl rowed us to the boardwalk along the waterfront, it was real close. First thing we saw was a pirate and his mate giving a walking tour. With Bella in tow we strolled the boardwalk then the town.. What a great place this is, the locals were very friendly and proud of their little town .Georgetown was very clean and well taken care of . We were told that people coming by boat are what helps keep the economy going and they love us here. We went to Lily's on the boardwalk for $1.50 PBR and $2.50 well drinks and watched the comics they had preforming.. We had a blast and I swear almost everyone in the place made it a point to talk to us..We sure would stop there again..Back to the boat it was a pot of beans, we love them, and off to sleep cause we have to leave with the tide again..5;30 am comes early..By the way BIG SHOUT OUT to my granddaughter Ashley, Today is your day, I know you will make a BEAUTIFUL BRIDE..Have fun and enjoy it.. Sorry I can't be there with you,I just wanted you to know I'm proud to call you my  granddaughter!!!! Have a great honeymoon...
