It's the last morning we will be enjoying the community sailboat school passing by our boat!! As you see by the photos these kids they must be learning how to put up the sails, loved watching them.. I am sure by time the summer is over some of them get pretty good. After breakfast we headed into town to pick up our part. Bella was barking like a mad man as we were leaving the boat. I hated to leave her but she can't ride the bus, so she had to stay home..We were riding the free trolley and all of a sudden the bus driver get on the microphone and says there is engine trouble and the bus will not be going any farther. Everyone disembarked and we got out our trusty city map and began to walk. Turned out we were only about 6 blocks from the FedEx office, and our part was waiting for us.. Gotta give a big shout out to Depco Pump Co. of Clearwater, they got us done quickly and at a very very reasonable price..We would recommend them to all.. We headed back out into town to hit a veggie stand and hardware store. Lucky for us they were having a Art Show in the park, so we strolled though that.. We love art so this was terrific to see. This is all in a vicinity of colleges, so we passed many dormitories , libraries and study halls and a very unusual bike rack. Check it out there are place for 3 bikes outside and 9 bike lockers. You pull down the ramp roll your bike inside and then put up the ramp and lock it.. Bike thief must be high her.. Never new something like this existed..One to a wonderful veggie stand, go so much was barely able to carry it back. Plus the hardware was in the same parking lot, so the PVC pipe was had. Next to them was a grocery and I needed a couple of things so we went inside where they were giving all kinds of food samples, we like to call lunch....Back to the dingy we went and took the short cut we had figured out.. It was a long way around the dock, so we motor up to where they dock the yachts and lift out boat out of the water, on to the dock , and over the other side.. Saves at least 10 minutes and lots of struggle.. The current and waves we considerable, about 3 ft and giving us quite the time. At the boat we were getting knocked about trying to board. Carl handed me the pump and I dropped it!! Luckily not in the water..but it broke... All I could do was cry...Thank God for Carl's ability to fix things as he sawed out the fitting I broke and put it all together and we were up and running..We had run into Peter from England in town and asked him and family over to happy hour. Peter, Helen and their lovely daughter Tiger stopped by on there way to there boat. I had made some guacamole and had a bag of corn chips for snacks so we spent an hour visiting. Tiger played with Bella most of the time she was aboard and Bella was thrilled!! She loves kids...We talked with them on how they find their weather window for sailing and they gave us a few tips.. It was wonderful to have people with there knowledge share it with us. Thanks Peter and Helen for that. Our visit came to an end and we waved goodbye, with hopes that we will see them again. Carl had run the boat for awhile so we had power for the radio, awesome now that we can play our IPOD. We listened to music during dinner than it was off to bed with us, as we planned to get up early to beat the tide.
