We got up and weighed anchor headed for Long Boat Key, we found a wonderful place to drop the hook right across from a county park, with only 2 boats in it. I made us blueberry pancakes with OJ for breakfast and Bella and I were ready for our day of fun in the park. Its amazing that we have only been out a couple of days and Bella already know that putting on the life jacket means we are going to shore and boy is she ready... Carl took us to the park and dropped us off as he had things he wanted to do on the boat. We were having quite the big time, chasing the ball ( sometimes her, sometimes me) playing in the water ( okay it took a little coaxing, but she did join me ) and who would forget looking for lizards... And that's where we found trouble !!!! Bella went into a mangrove and as I am watching her I see something start to move, it's a raccoon. I SCREAM RUN BELLA RUN...The crazy raccoon came chasing after me, I ran in the water as fast as I could when I fell the raccoon was about 9 or 10 ft from me. The I raised my shoes and he turned and went away. I looked around for Bella and she was fine on the shore. I have never been so scared in my life!!! Enough play for today, I yelled for Carl to pick us up and bring a net. I told him what happened and that I had lost Bella's leach & harness during the excitement. Brave Carl armed himself with a oar and headed over to where it all occurred. He said it was washed out to sea and gone. As we were walking back to the dingy a man with a camera approached us and said he was doing a photo shoot for Bealls store and would like to use the dingy and the dog for the shot. Carl said if he had a cold beer he could, he replied no but he would give us copies of the pictures and a $20 gift cert for the store. So they did the shoot. Carl had been trying his hand at fishing and caught 5 fish all to little to eat, no fish yet..Carl had been visited by the local sheriff while we were playing with a raccoon, who told him that we weren't in an anchorage but we could stay for the night . He was very nice to Carl so everything was just fine. After dinner a good game of domino's and off to bed
