We got underway just after breakfast and Carl has read about Cabbage Key, a place only excesible by water where many sailors stop for lunch., or you can rent a cabin. It is an island bought and developed by an writer name Mary Roberts Rinehart. What a cool place, there are dollar bills all over the walls and they say it adds up to about $50,000. We stayed for a drink, only one( $7.00 a piece) and walked around the island. Bella was only allowed on the island for a minute to pee, so we only stayed about an hour. It was back to motoring because winds still on the nose. Reached Ft Myers and anchored for the evening, had dinner and Carl tried his hand at fishing again, still no fish. But he does keep trying. Today we begin our trip through the Okeechobee waterway.A stop at the Ft. Myers Yacht Basin to top off fuel, pumped out and filled the water tank. Believe it or not we are under sail this morning.

Awesome you guys, been following you daily via the blog, good stuff! Crossing my fingers for waterway crossing, super shallow right now due to drought. I just saw a report of 3.75' in route 2.
ReplyDeleteSo far the water depth has been great anywhere from 12 to 24ft. We were told of some shallow parts we will be watching for those. Thanks, Glad you are following along.
DeleteAlright. :) Look at all that moulah.
ReplyDeleteDon't we wish they would have let us have a small sample of the money.Miss talking to you everyday. Please keep following along with me on the blog. I love you lots
DeleteI was looking at the waterway on google. How long does it take to get through? And is it possible to sail in there?
ReplyDeleteIt should take us about 4 days to cross. Yesterday we sailed for a little while , but the winds were variable so not all day. The river is very wide so yes if the winds are right we can.
