The day began with Maine blueberries, muffins, coffee and tea. Maury had gone to work at the store so it was just Carl, Barbie and myself. Carl watched the morning news while Barbie and I cleaned up the dishes. It was an easy day of just relaxing. Since Ernie has loaned us his truck , we wanted to have a look around the area, never know if we will get this way again..Thanks Ernie..We asked Barbie if there were any tourist stuff to see and she said yes, so we headed out. Our first stop was the local museum. It was your typical small town museum, it had some cool stuff we had never seen before. Like a snow roller, that packed the snow down so sleds could pass over snow easier. Then they had a life size Chinese idol a sixth century guardian that was stolen from a temple in China by to local men during the Boxer Rebellion in the 1800's. It is believed that the monks of the temple put a curse on the men and anyone who held the figure in there position. These men also found had two other figures and $300,000.00 worth of jewels. In the end terrible things happened to them, including their murders, Their family mansion they built with the money was destroyed This is not something you would expect to find in Naples Maine.. Next it was off to the store Maury son owns and Maury works..This was a country store with a lunch counter, with anything else you may need while in the area. It is a rural area with lots of summer camps around and not many choices to shop, they do a great business. We had a clam cake, pizza and a huge brownie his son makes only it was to much to eat, all was delicious... Neat store,,Next we headed down some country roads, just took any road that looked good to us...Looking for an adventure... We found a tree at a corner that had every one's name on it that live down the road .. Next we found an old 1920's/30's Ford truck in a field with a scarecrow at the wheel, all of these sites were truly Maine.. We also found an old lock on Sebago river that was worked by hand to let the boats pass. This was a very old wooden lock.. Just past that a swing bridge that was opened by a person walking in a circle and cranking it open. This was all in a park area so we hit the outhouse while there, only I took a picture of Carl exiting it.. He loved that..You know its country when they have a outhouse..Back at the house Bonnie and Jim had arrived, I hadn't seen them since I sold the restaurant, so it was story time for us all to share what we had been doing. Maury announced the bar was open so we all headed down for cocktails before dinner.. After dinner Jeff and John stopped by and we called Dave and Paul back home.. Maury retired to bed and Barbie, Bonnie , Jim and I all went swimming in the heated pool with a till midnight.Barbie showed up in a pink wig part of her swimming attire.. too cute.. We laughed at each others stories as Jim and Bonnie had decided, Yeah she's nuts... Heck we all knew this, no big surprise to us.. this was all great fun..About the time we were making so much noise we woke up Maury we called it a night.. This was a carefree fun day..
