It rained most of the night and well into the day. We just laid around the boat, and Carl putter around with a few things. We got a call from Dave and Katie saying they would be here in about 3 hours, so we slowly started getting ready to go to shore. The weather wasn't good so we decided to leave Bella on the boat. I must say I hate doing that, about half way though the day it clears up and we wish she was with us. Once ashore we walked to town, I needed a new can opener so I picked one up at the local hardware. Just about that time Dave and Katie called  to say they were down the street and were coming to meet us. They looked great , I hadn't seen them in years. It was very nice of them to drive 1 1/2 hours to meet us., they live in Rouge Bluffs which is close to Canada, A good 60 miles away. They had their dog with them so I was really missing Bella.. We drove over to Bar Harbor for the afternoon, what a tourist trap. The streets were packed, but we did pick up a t-shirt each and of course ice cream. Dave went with us to walk the stores, but Katie stayed with the dog at the truck ,as she didn't like the crowds. We tired to make the brewery tour but missed it, oh well. At last we were done traversing the town and Katie joined us for dinner and we talked about everything under the sun. It was so nice to spend time with them. Dave drove us back to the dingy just as it was starting to rain again. Kate had brought us veggies from her garden and blueberries she had picked up on the way over.That was very thoughtful of her.and she gave me a survival bracelet.. We said our goodbyes and thanked them for joining us. It is always nice to see old friends.Bella was sure glad to see us when we got home.. Not much to report about the evening just a quite night on the Windward Spirit..
