Celebrate good times, alert the media, tell all your friends ,spread the news, it true Carl and Rosie have made it to Maine.!! That's right 3 months, many trials later and here we are... Party On..Who's having fun now...After the wonderful time we had in Portsmouth, NH, we were off to sea's again, with an early morning start..Carl with his with his 6 AM stuff..I love that.. The waves and winds were perfect ,we hoped to make it to Portland ME. With the conditions of the day being so right we made it all the way to Popham Beach. Plus Carl getting us moving so early... This is were Nancy and Ernie live. The beauty coming into the area was breathtaking..Everywhere we looked was a little more fantastic than what we were looking at before. This was a wonder to behold. This is truly Maine.. With it's rocky coast covered with trees and homes. I was so impressed I tried to take many photos to show you only my camera doesn't do it justice.. As we traversed the waterway Ernie had told us to pass the fort and turn left, and we would find the mooring ball. Fort Popham was built in 1861 to be used during the Civil War , but never fired a shot in anger. It was also maned during both World Wars. As we arrived at the mooring ball Ernie had gotten for us we noticed a man in a blue house looking at us with binoculars , as we were looking at him. The man turned out to be Sam, Ernie and Nancy's next door neighbor. Both guys hopped into Sam's dingy and headed out. It was so great to see them. Carl rode to the dock with them and returned to get Bella and myself. Nancy and Ernie have a beautiful home overlooking this spectacular bay.. They kept the original style of the home that was built here in he 1800's. How very kind of them to invite us into their lovey home... We sat out on the porch and chatted the night away. Sam and Ernie have a great rapport and it was such fun listening to them..Nancy and I got dinner ready for Ernie and Carl to cook on the grill. Sam had to go home when his wife showed up. Nancy had asked them to join us, but being that she hadn't been home in a couple of days. I guess they wanted some alone time.. We all now what that means....Boy was Sam smiling when we saw him today..The evening was spent with lively conversation and wonderful company. Nancy grew up here as so did her family for many generations, so she was able to fill us in on much of it's history. Turns out that the settlers came here first in 1607 before they went to Mass.We were shown to our room overlooking the bay and called it a night. This is the most amazing place with the greatest of hosts.. This is one of the many things that we wouldn't have gotten to do in life , if it wasn't for all the years of hard work at Rosie's.. I am very thankful for us meeting the wonderful people we have, and the chance to experience this in life... I am having trouble connecting with my computer so I will post pictures as soon as possible..
