With it being a cold and rainy morning neither one of us was in hurry to go outside. Carl checked the tides and saw if we waited a couple of hours we would be going with the tide and could make up the time. So I made us a good breakfast of bagels and eggs, while Carl read to me from a sail magazine. I love that.. During breakfast we talked about the wonderful trip we have had and how we would like to keep going and go on the outside. We are not sure why but the waves are so high out there 4 to 6 ft. says NOAA radio, the T.V news along with most of the websites, but for some reason NOAA website says only 2 feet, we had this happen one other time in Ocean City Maryland. Go figure.. Always ones to air on the side of caution, we stayed inside.. We caught the tide and the wind, with our jib sail up and motoring we moved at a amazing 7 to 8 knots, that is really hauling butt for us. We made 19 miles in 2.5 hours.. Speed racer.. Moving like the wind...The most amazing part of the day was Bella and I stayed topside with Carl all day, but we did have to have a blanket. The ICW is not very exciting. Nothing to see here, grass flats as far as the eye can see. But that okay, I am sure reading my quota of books, so many I can't even count them. Thanks Tammy and Greg for getting me a Kindle...We made about 35 to 40 miles when it was time to anchor for the night. Being it was cold I made us my famous White Bean and Kale soup.. At this point I think we are addicted.. Sooooooo warm and goooooood.... Well it could be worse.. Closer to home we move again today, wishing for warmer weather..

Cold and damp here today too, was at the marina yesterday giving Butch a check for his Thanksgiving charity, the end of the dock was destroyed during Debby, I didn't walk the dock, but noticed Smoot's boat was way further in which prompted my question. Dennis told me of the damage. Not clear if it was repaired or not.
ReplyDeleteIt's not all that warm here either. Lyman is starting a fire in the fireplace right now. Hoping you find warmer weather soon.
