The winds had died down a bit so we chose to pack it in and head out. We put the jib back on, the dingy back where it belonged and all the miner things that had to go back place for us to move. I went to take my last shower with the great steam/shower, I sure will miss that.... Then we filled our fuel and water and pumped out the waste tank and we motored out into the river. As we got into the river and out of the hurricane hole the winds were stronger and the water was rougher than we thought it was gonna be so it was slow going till we hit narrower water. Bella and I stayed down below due to the fact that it was so cold in the cockpit. Carl had on 3 shirts, 2 coats , a hat and gloves while he captained the boat. When my turn came to relieve him I had on a long johns, 3 shirts, a hat, gloves and a winter coat. Brrrr its cold up here...Good thing we packed this stuff....Sure missing Florida...We put up the sails at one point only the gusts of wind were so strong they kept blowing us over, so Carl felt it was safer to just take them down and motor.A large barge passed us with what looked like a small city he was pushing. We arrived at Morehead City and pulled into a dock where Carl's sister Maryanne met us. She had driven 3 hours so she could come over and meet us. What a gal... I knew she was Carl's sister the minute I saw her, same great hair and tall too.. They hadn't seen each other in 14 years... Way to long.. We had dinner with her, but walked around the waterfront, unfortunately her husband Kenneth was not able to come. I had never met her before and her before and was greatly pleased to fine out what a marvelous woman she is.. We had a great time with her only wish it could have been longer...Maryanne was so sweet she even gave me some perfumed body lotion for those times I can't take a shower, so I could smell good.. Loved that... We invited them to Florida and hope they will come, we would love to spend more time with them...We tried again to get a hold of our friend Ed in Ocean City N.J and was not able to reach him yet, we are very worried as he is right next to Atlantic City. We hope to hear from him soon, I will try again today and keep him in our prayers.. I am also trying to get a picture of Ocean City on the computer so maybe I can try to find his house..If you get one please send it to me at my email.wavechasers2@hotmail.com He lives right on the water only a few blocks from the beach, we pray he is safe.. Today we will move farther south on the inside because of the wind. Carolina beach next stop.
